At the world-cup in Val di Fiemme we made a short interview with the russian Co-coach Alexander Arefiev

Alexander, today was not a good day for the russian team

Yes, the conditions were not good unfortunately. Tail wind and rain.

But otherwise it's a good time for the Russian team. In Bischofshofen there were three jumpers in the Top Ten.

Yes.

Only Dimitri Ipatov wasn't in a good shape till now.

Yes, but we're planing a training in Klingenthal and we hope he will jump better after that.

Please tell a bit about your training in summer. You are doing a lot of training in Germany?

Yes, most of our trainings-camps are in Germany - Hinterzarten - and in Austria, Switzerland and sometimes Finland.

And can you also do some training in Russia?

In Russia there are only two or three small skijumping-hills. That's all. When we are at home in Russia we are not able to do some training on an skijumping-hill.

So, now there will be the Olympic Games in Sotschi in 2014. What does this mean for the team?

I think this will be much positive for the whole team.

There will be some new skijumping-hills in Sotschi. When will they be build?

They should be build until 2010.

Some years ago they were also talking about some new skijumping-hills in St. Petersburg?

Yes, they will be build during the next 2 year. There will be a big sporting-center also with cross-country and biathlon

And also the skijumping-hills in Nishny Novgorod will be restored.

Yes, but there are anly plans untill now. I think this will take 2-3 years too. But for now we have no skijumping-hills to use for training.

Let's talk a bit about younger skijumpers.

Yes, there are some, but they are all not in a good shape.

Also in the continental-cup the russian team isn't so good at the moment.

Yes, like I said, they are all not in a good shape. So the results are bad. The team for the world-cup is okay, but the team for the continental-cup is really bad at the moment.

Thank you for the interview!
